Back in September I reported that Zelda's, a very popular place to hang out and dine in the Gay Village,
closed its doors after 13 years. While they haven't gone for good, they have simply moved to a new venue, which used to be occupied by Living Well restaurant, at the intersection of Yonge and Isabella, I know that the new Zelda's won't be the same. There was something magical about that section of the Church Street strip. There was a certain energy and vibrancy about it which you didn't feel anywhere else. Over the past couple of years I have noticed that the energy and vibrancy has been diminishing bit by bit with the closures of other popular establishments in the neighbourhood. I know that change is a fundamental foundation of the universe and of life itself, but I wonder if, in this instance, it is a good thing. I guess only time will tell.
