This morning I awoke to the first snowfall of the new year. When I finally ventured outside with the dogs for their morning walk, there was a resounding silence. Most of the city was still asleep after a night of celebrations. A light dusting of white had already covered the ground. Big fat flakes floated in the air, which eventually and gently descended earthward.
