After waiting for several weeks on a callback list, I finally received a call from my local Rogers store informing me that my
iPhone 3Gs had arrived. So without delay, I ventured there and picked it up.
Once I got home, I synced my old iPhone 3G with my laptop. Afterwards, I attached the new phone, registered it, and then restored the new phone from my existing iPhone backup. Once the restoration was completed, my new iPhone had all the data, apps, and functionality of my old phone plus its own set of features. Overall the process of upgrading to the new phone was very smooth.
Later I wiped my old iPhone and restored it to its original factory settings. I cleaned it up and put it into its original box, which I had stowed away in safe place. Hopefully, I will be able to pass on the joy of this phone by selling it to someone else.
